Calm. in the Classroom
Calm. is a specialised curriculum focused on teaching yoga & mindfulness skills to secondary school students. Designed and delivered by psychologist and yoga teacher Susie Coakley, the classes thoughtfully instruct students on how to bring emotional balance to the body and mind.
The program is designed to be flexible and meet the needs of your school and students. Ideally classes are taught regularly on a weekly timetable to achieve the most positive outcomes. Alternatively specialised workshops or modules can be delivered, such as a 6 week after school program for managing exam stress.
Susie has extensive experience working with young people in the field of wellbeing. She spent her early career working as a psychologist in Lucena Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, specialising in researching and managing anxiety issues. In Australia, she was part of a pioneering team delivering a government funded mental health promotion and prevention initiative in schools across New South Wales. She also spent three years as a volunteer with The Butterfly Foundation Australia, running support groups for sufferers of eating disorders.
